Write a sequel to The Outsiders. Remember how it ends. Dallas is shot down by the cops in the park. Ponyboy ends up back in school. Be sure to mention what the main characters are doing / behaving and what has become of their lives. Consider the following questions when writing but do not limit yourself to these ideas:

1. Is there still animosity between the soc's and greasers or do they put their differences to rest?

2. Will Cherri talk to Ponyboy at school?

3. Does social services come and take Ponyboy and Sodapop away from Darryl?

4. Does anything happen to the police officers that shot Dallas down?

Journal Entry # 8 - Ponyboy tells his brothers "Johnny is dead. Dallas is gone. He can't take it. He's gonna blow." What does he mean? Why is Dallas the way he is? What kind of person do you think he really is on the inside?

Journal entry # 9: Johnny tells Ponyboy to "STAY GOLD." He explains in his letter "Gold - like when your young. Everything is new." What does he mean?

Journal entry # 10 - Johnny also tells Ponyboy in his letter that he was glad he saved the kids in the burning church. He said, " they have more to live for than he did." What do you think about that?

Objective: by the end of class, you will write view the conclusion of The Outsiders and write two journal entries. All journal entries should be at least 3-5 sentences long.

Journal Entry # 6 - If a gang today is going to fight another gang, is it planned out like the soc's and greasers planned it? Are there rules? The greasers and socs agreed "no weapons." Does this make it a fair fight? If that fight happened today, would someone be likely to break the "rules?"
